Stefan Hauser

Hello! My name is Stefan,

I’m a 19-year-old art student at Seattle Pacific University (SPU). I’m majoring in Visual Arts and minoring in Digital Media. My goal is to build a career in the video game industry as a character/concept artist or some other creative visual role. I have a deep passion for art, games, and storytelling, which inspire me to create and grow my artistic skills.

"I believe that everyone has a creative spark. It becomes real when we choose to trust it and begin creating."

Project 1: Bear Mask/Sculpture

For this project, we were tasked with creating a wearable cardboard animal or creature mask with spiritual symbolism, along with a second sculptural piece representing the embodiment of the mind. The mask evolved through several design iterations, from a deer, a raven, and a hedgehog, before becoming a geometric bear. The polygonal style emphasizes the planes and light. This project challenged me to be flexible and trust the creative process.

Project 2: Portrait Collage

Inspired by David Hockney’s photographic collages, this project combines layered portraits built from individual facial feature photographs of six friends. Using color to contrast newer friendships with longtime ones, the final series explores how visual treatment can reflect different types of relationships. The project challenged me to merge photography with digital design in a new way.

Project 3: Playing Card Designs

Designed a set of three face playing cards in Adobe Illustrator, focusing on balance, color harmony, and symbolism. Each card includes patterns, textures, and cohesive colors inspired by pre-1850 art. The process involved sketching, research, and vector design using Illustrator tools. Final cards were printed and mounted on a presentation board with clean, professional formatting.
